Climate change can feel distant or abstract — but when we connect it to environments people love and rely on, it becomes personal. That insight led me to focus on one of the most threatened yet under-discussed ecosystems: the prairies.
Overall, I created a large-scale awareness banner centered around the prairies — vast, vibrant ecosystems that are vital carbon sinks and home to rich biodiversity. But these landscapes are disappearing due to climate change and human impact. The banner was strategically placed on campus to: visually disrupt the space and invite curiosity, highlight the beauty and ecological importance of prairies, introduce their connection to climate action by including a QR code linking to a digital experience and actionable takeaways via social media.
